Out & About
– by Molly Whalen
Georgetown Yoga is an “urban oasis” located in the middle of
Washington’s historic Georgetown neighborhood. The studio offers a
wide range of yoga styles for all levels, from those new to yoga to
those already practicing. Georgetown Yoga offers a beautiful, relaxing
setting to begin, develop to enhance your yoga experience – a
sanctuary where body and mind can reap the benefits that yoga has
offered its practitioners for close to 5,000 years.
Georgetown Yoga is located in a light-filled space next to the C&O
canal at 1053 31st st. NW. The classes include Yoga I, Yoga
II, Ashtanga, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga and Restorative Yoga. They also
offer a variety of workshops and 8 week Yoga I sessions.
I had
never done yoga before, but was interested in a different kind of
exercise/workout, and took the Yoga I – Introduction class this winter
and it was wonderful! A great introduction to yoga and very appealing.
Margaret Burns Vap, owner/instructor, is marvelous at introducing this
exercise and making yoga accessible and easy to try! The studio is
friendly and very convenient to Hillandale.
