Friday evening,
June 6 In these stressful times of global crisis, our species is under tremendous pressure to evolve. Hidden in the practice of classical yoga are the answers we so desperately need in order to save ourselves from extinction. See how an engaged practice of asana, pranayama, and/or meditation is essential to your personal health (detox!), growth, and the health of our planet. Strengthen your commitment to yoga and go beyond self-centeredness. Learn what it means to be a true teacher and spiritual revolutionary! Put your practice to work. See how what we do on the mat in this class can become a force for change in the world. Recommended for teachers and those wishing to go deeper into the spiritual aspects of their practice. Teacher Training or Continuing Education credits available for participants in both the friday evening and saturday afternoon workshops.
Get revved up for summer sunshine! Join the Georgetown Yoga tribe to celebrate the return of summer and Beryl Bender Birch to DC for a yoga workshop filled with perspiration, inspiration, motivation, and celebration! If you want to get in on the joy of living, the life of giving, and bathe in the return of warmth at this time of year, then this is the workshop for you - classical yoga and pranayama ("breathing" for the non-yogis), laughter and meditation. BBB is one of the most gifted yoga teachers on the planet. Her gifts of knowledge, humor, and an incredibly down-to-earth approach in teaching yoga will leave you feeling inspired to take care of yourself and then go tackle the world "out there".
Beryl has been teaching yoga since 1974, is
a nationally-renowned author, teacher, and spiritual revolutionary. She
was the only teacher of the Ashtanga Yoga system east of the Mississippi
for the entire decade of the 80s, and is one of the original pioneers of
yoga and yoga for athletes in the West. You will love Beryl. You gotta come! Be comfortable and do what you can. No Pressure. Carpe Diem! See you there. BBB at the 2005 GY workshop
